The primary scale of this refractometer is 1.33-1.54 refractive index. This scale is in fact the primary scale from which all other scales are derived. You could, therefore, use this refractometer for almost any application – providing you had the information required to form your results. For most users we recommend our application-based refractometers, however for specialist use this can be used for: chemicals surfactants detergent blends fertilisers diesel fuel additives anti-freeze fluids This OPTi refractometer comes with 1 preset scale and 2 empty scales ready for user definition. Scale A is set to Refractive Index Scale B is empty: User Defined Scale C is empty: User Defined  The OPTi Digital Handheld Refractometer – Refractive Index (RI) scales are preselected at despatch, but may be reassigned using the scale selection.
